Sectionals Recap: on to STATE!
On Saturday, April 28th our Raider Track Team competed at the State Sectional Track Meet, competing to qualify for the state track meet in 2 weeks.
Several of our Raiders finished in the top 8 and earned a spot in the state meet.
In the 100M and 200M dash Preston Jackson qualified 7th and 3rd overall.
In the 400M Jayla Mobley and Robbie Ruppell both qualified 1st overall in the state. Errol Williams qualified 5th.
In the 1600 and 3200 meter runs Robert Chappell qualified 2nd overall in both events.
In the Shot put and Discus Jamal Ellis qualified 4th and 1st respectively.
The boys A team 4x100 relay qualified 1st. Congrats to Dylan Merrel, Preston Jackson, Kent Cherry, & Robbie Ruppell.
The boys 4x400 relay A team qualified 1st in a time of 3:17.73. They are currently ranked 1st in the state in Class 6A and #33 overall in the US. Congrats to Preston Jackson, Kent Cherry, Robbie Ruppell, & Errol Williams.
The boys B team qualified 5th moving on to the state meet. Great job Reggie Nolon, Dylan Merrel, Josh Flynn, and Jaden Slocum.
The ladies 4x400 finished 9th and just missed out on a spot in the state meet. Special congratulations to these ladies on a great season: Taylor Martin, Kendall Brown, Lamis Al-Wazani, Jayla Mobley.
