Regionals Finals Recap
The varsity team celebrates after victory
This past Saturday our qualifying Raiders competed at the final day of the Region Championship. The top 4 of each final event qualified to go the Sectionals this Saturday, then to pass on thru to State competition. What a great day for the AHS Track Team, as we swept the Region on the Men's side, winning 1st place with 143 points! The Lady Raiders also did very well in their events, and many came in as high finishers. Congrats to ALL who participated!
Girls Team, continuing on to Sectionals:
Jayla Mobley, 1st place, 400 meter & 4th place, 200 meter dash.
Lamis AL-Wazani, Taylor Martin, Jayla Mobley, Lauren Nash, 4x400, 3rd place
Also earning an honorable mention for their races/competitions: Kendall Brown, Alicia Johnson, Sara Gotwalt, Kira Wiklund, Maureen Renken, Brooke Witte, Madison Tigert, Arin Evans, Natalie Camera, Gabby Pierre.
Boys Team, continuing on to Sectionals:
Preston Jackson, 1st place, 100 meter dash & 1st place, 200 meter dash

Robbie Ruppel, 1st place, 400 meter dash
Errol Williams, 4th place, 400 meter dash
Robert Chappell, 1st place, 3200 meter
Preston Jackson, Kent Cherry, Robbie Ruppel, and Dylan Merrell, 4x100 A: 1st place
Reggie Nolon, Austin Joyner, Joshua Flynn, Jaden Slocum, 4x100B, 3rd place

Remember that some events last Wednesday were contested as a final with the top 4 placers punching their ticket into next week's sectional meet. Those Raiders were:

Jaden Slocum 4th in Long Jump

Amazing effort and great job to all the athletes and coaches! Please come out and support these great student athletes this Saturday! Sectionals will be held at Lakewood Stadium in Atlanta, and it will be worth your while to come out and cheer on our team.
